QUEST 2

Recently Facebook announced Oculus`s v23 system update. This update contains the native 90Hz refresh rate and Fitness Tracking(old article) – called Oculus Move – for Quest 2. Another feature is purchasing gifts for friends, coming alater this month. Oculus Link came out of BETA.

Since Quest 2 launched it supported 90Hz refresh rate just for Home area and apps like the browser but you couldn`t use it in games. A workaround patch could be used to unlock 90Hz but wasn`t officially supported.

“Starting today, all system software including Home, Guardian, and Passthrough will run at 90Hz by default, and we’re allowing developers to start shipping Quest titles with native 90Hz support.”

The update “V23” also contains Oculus Move, a new way of staying fit at home while enjoying your VR headset. As we stated in a older article the app helps you burn calories and tracks them based on your activity level measured by the headset and controller movement. Moreover you can set daily goals to achieve you maximum potential.

After years and years of waiting you can now gift other players games and apps. This will come later this month with a new update as the leaks say. You will be able to purchase from the phone app and send them directly to your friends.  You’ll start to see a new “Buy for a Friend” button, similar to how Steam handles it for PC games.
